EastEnders fans ‘work out’ why ‘Eddie killed George’s father’ – and it is because of Gloria
EastEnders fans are convinced they know why Eddie “killed George’s biological father”.
At the end of Monday’s episode (February 12), George discovered his father was standing trial for a murder which police believe was racially-motivated. Viewers immediately speculated that the man Eddie is accused of murdering is George’s real dad.
Gina’s (Francesca Henry) birthday arrived during the latest episode, but George told his parents to leave as he knew all about the court case. Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) begged him to be a character witness for Eddie, insisting the claims were made-up before admitting he wouldn’t survive in prison.
At the end of the episode, George found it within himself to look up the court case. A photo of the victim – Henry Kofi Asare – appeared in the news article as a shocked George continued reading.
“Yeahhh. I bet that’s George’s biological dad Eddie killed!” declared one viewer on X. Another agreed: “wonder if the man who Eddie murdered was George’s biological dad?”
Having the same thoughts, a third shared: “Edward defo killed George’s biological dad!!!!” Others have theorised why Eddie would murder George’s father, with some concluding that it was because of Gloria.
One wrote: “I reckon Eddie killed George’s bio dad because he had an affair with Gloria, resulting in George, hence the an antagonism towards him and his racism in general. And that’s the ‘historical’ incident coming to light now.”
Another agreed: “And I think Gloria could potentially be George’s biological mum, after having an affair with George’s biological dad, that’s why Eddie is so cold towards her – he’s still bitter about it all these years later.”
A third echoed: “I wondered if George’s adoptive mother might be his biological mother and his adoptive dad, killed his biological dad. It could have been an affair.” Someone else theorised that Eddie killed George’s father because Gloria didn’t want to hand George back over to his biological parents.
They said: “Maybe he did it for Gloria, Gloria like you said loves him and wanted him and maybe when his bio parents came back and wanted him she didn’t want to give him back, Eddie got angry, maybe claimed because they were black they couldn’t raise him properly and murdered him in a rage.”
