EastEnders spoilers: Serial killer Lucas Johnson back again and he is terrified for Denise Fox

EastEnders fans were left gobsmacked when serial killer Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) made a shock return to the BBC soap in recent episodes, which saw struggling Denise Fox (Diane Parish) turn to him for support in the wake of Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.

Denise’s mental health has been getting increasingly worse since Christmas Day, and in upcoming episodes Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) fears she may be suffering from psychosis.

While Yolande Truman (Angela Wynter) and Pastor Clayton attempt to counsel her, Stacey insists she needs to see a psychiatrist. However, there is only one person that Denise wants to see, and that is Lucas.

Actress Diane Parish revealed her joy at having both actor Don and character Lucas back, and explained that there is a very different dynamic between them both this time.

‘I’m always thrilled when Don comes back because there is always going to be something interesting to play. I really like that over the years he’s been able to keep popping back up and it’s a nice surprise for the audience.

‘Lucas, the name, the character, the actor, have such impact on this show that it’s a gift when we get those moments when he and Denise reconnect. Don is just so easy to click back in with.

‘It is a very different dynamic this time around, it’s almost like Denise and Lucas have changed roles!’

Faced with Denise once again, Lucas is alarmed by her behaviour and the things she is saying. He is so concerned by how she is acting, that he later phones Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), to share his fears.

Meanwhile, agitated Denise is convinced that the only way to keep her family safe is to leave Walford, and soon she and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) are racing out of Albert Square and towards the woods.

When Denise suddenly gets out of the car and leaves Amy stranded, she is terrified. Is she in danger?
