Chistopher Eubank, Elizabeth Counsell stand with Colin Salmon in the Queen Vic of EastEnders

EastEnders fans have been kept gripped by a hard hitting storyline surrounding the Knight family, which has tackled some important topics including child farming and racism.

A powerful recent episode saw George Knight (Colin Salmon) finally learn the truth about his biological father, Henry Kofi Asare, amid a startling confession from mum Gloria (Elizabeth Fairbank).

In emotional scenes, George confronted dad Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) about a racially motivated murder he was facing trial for, revealing that he remembered the attack in question.

He was later left completely devastated when Gloria admitted that she had told Eddie to do whatever it took to stop Henry from taking George away from her – a request which ultimately led to his death.

The powerful episode, which also saw daughters Gina and Anna (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) have an important discussion about the differences in how they have been treated because of the way they look, was hailed by fans online as one of the best pieces of television ever.

Though George subsequently ordered Eddie and Gloria out of his life, it appears that they will not be gone for long, with this storyline set to continue long into the future.

In a post shared to Twitter/X this week, director Christopher McGill praised actors Colin Salmon, Elizabeth Counsell and Christopher Fairbank as he revealed that they had worked together earlier that day..
