EastEnders spoilers: Kat Slater launches her plan to destroy killer Nish Panesar but he takes serious revenge
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) finds herself in serious danger in upcoming EastEnders scenes when Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) takes serious revenge as she plans to destroy him.
Nish and Kat began dating after both of their marriages ended, but it soon became clear that Nish was just using Kat to get what he wants.
‘Nish is very pleased with the way this relationship is developing for him,’ actor Navin Chowdhry explained. ‘It is going according to plan until later on in the week when the goal post shifts. He is very close to it being a triumph for him, and then right at the last minute, things change for him as suddenly he’s faced with another formidable opponent.’
Meanwhile, Kat is determined to move on from cheating ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), though she can’t help but worry about the son he shares with Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Raymond.
Phil is quick to shut down her concerns, informing her that his solicitor has already started divorce proceedings, meaning that they won’t have much to do with each other anymore.
When Kat later overhears that Phil is buying the Arches from son Ben (Max Bowden), she grows suspicious that he may not be being honest in their divorce, as the business wasn’t listed on the solicitor’s letter.
Sensing Kat’s unease, Nish sees an opportunity to get his hands on some of the Mitchell fortune, and puts her in contact with dodgy divorce lawyer Roger Peel (Ben Jones).
‘I think initially there was a genuine attraction of two people in similar situations,’ Navin said of Nish and Kat’s relationship. ‘There was a common ground over which they bonded genuinely.
‘But Nish being the manipulative opportunist that he is, saw a wonderful prize at the end of it [Phil’s money and businesses]. I think initially there was an affection that then transformed into an opportunity for him.’
With Nish unaware that Kat has sussed his true motivations, she continues to play him, much to the horror of Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
Suki is desperate to make Kat see how dangerous Nish is, and begs her to steer clear. Unfortunately, Kat brushes off her warnings and decides to proceed with her plan.
