EastEnders spoilers follow from Friday’s double episode (March 1), which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. This article contains storyline details that some viewers may prefer to avoid, as this episode hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders aired a major turning point in Nish Panesar’s story this week, as his family all turned against him.

Nish’s nefarious behaviour has been infuriating fans for months now, with many wondering if and when he’ll ever get his comeuppance.

This week’s episodes has seen Nish’s ongoing story reach a peak, after his plan to fleece his new love interest Kat Mitchell drastically backfired.

Nish had spotted an opportunity to get his hands on Kat’s Mitchell fortune, knowing she was in the process of pursuing her divorce from Phil.

Luckily, Kat managed to cotton on to Nish’s plan at the eleventh hour and decided to play him at his own game.

Things took a nasty turn when Priya informed Nish of Kat’s intentions and he attempted to attack her.

Kat then joined forces with Suki, Eve and Stacey – who are all acutely aware of Nish’s physically and emotionally abusive side – to humiliate him in the street.

Always one step ahead of the game, Nish retaliated by calling the police, claiming it was Stacey who attacked him on Christmas Day.

Stacey was eventually released without charge but the incident led to Jack finding out that Denise was actually responsible for Nish’s attack instead.

Suki was horrified when Stacey revealed that she had told Jack some of the events from Christmas Day, mainly that Denise was the one who hit Nish .

Stacey insisted that Jack would keep quiet but Suki was unconvinced and decided to approach Jack herself.

She shared some firm words with Jack, reiterating that if one of them fall then they all do, including Denise.

Suki then had a furious row with Stacey, who evicted her. As a result, Suki was forced to explain to a devastated Eve she was leaving and her thoughts soon turned back to her ongoing feud with Nish.

Vinny also gave Suki food for thought and she decided to meet with Nish, in the hope of calling a truce once and for all.

Once again, it wasn’t long before Nish turned violent with Suki – who was only saved when the wider Panesar family arrived in her time of need.

Horrified by Nish’s brutality towards her, the Panesars – including Priya – all rushed to Suki’s aid.

Despite this, Nish made another attempt to get back in control and tried to evict Suki from his house. However, she explained that she’d spoken to Masoon, who was happy to put the whole lease in her name.

Vinny, finally seeing the light, supported Suki by saying he’d signed over his share of the rental to Suki as well.

Ravi and Priya also took a defiant stand against Nish, insisting he packed his bags and left immediately.

As things threatened to turn violent again, Ravi forcefully hurled Nish out on the street.

Suki was left triumphant that Nish had finally received his comeuppance where the family was concerned– but will his story really end there?

It appears not. Recently, Navin Chowdhry – who plays Nish – explained how the bosses had a six-month plan for his villainous alter-ego.

Speaking to Starnews99, he said: “We’ve been speaking with the execs and the writers about the journey over the next six months.

“Genuinely we are on the same page and it sounds really exciting,” he continued.

“We all have our chats about what’s going on and when I had my chat about what’s going to be happening with Nish, it’s really what I wanted to hear.

“It’s exciting the journey ahead, but we still have to film it, so let’s see what happens.”

Referencing this week’s episodes, he said: “You have to watch the next two weeks, towards the end of Feb there is a very significant week of episodes which focuses a lot on Suki and Kat and the Panesars and what it might mean sort of for the future. There is something quite big coming up.”

Navin has also admitted that he’s been “scared” by some of harsh scenes he has to play.

“There have been moments when we’ve had scenes and I’ll speak to the producer and I’ll say, ‘I’m going to have to go on the school run and you’re making me beat up every woman on Albert Square’. I’ve been scared,” he said (via Daily Star).

“I am aware that everyone wanted him to die at Christmas. I apologise to the audience that I’m still around!”

Moving forwards, the actor has also spoken out about his hopes that Nish will become more intertwined with Walford harman Phil Mitchell.

“There has always been a slight flirtation that it may or may not happen”, he said. “I think the way that this story has evolved perhaps the audience feel that Nish deserves to have Phil set on him. Nish and Phil have had moments, and very early on when I started there was some hype about the Panesars versus the Mitchell’s and Phil versus Nish.

“Steve is a very popular character on set and I really enjoy working with him, so anything that we have has always been really nice to play with. I think Phil versus Nish is something that the audience would like to see.”
