Troubled teen Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) is to begin using steroids to improve his boxing performance in worrying EastEnders scenes.
The school boy was attacked by a group of bullies on Edward Road in January as his friend Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) watched on.
Coming to his rescue, family friend Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) rushed over, but tripped on her shopping bag and injured herself.
The next day, Avani and best mate Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) mocked him over the incident, which had been filmed and posted on social media.
When Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) noticed the altercation, the lads were invited to the Boxing Den to better channel their emotions – but Denzel later became fixated on bettering his physique to combat any further attacks.
When egged on by George’s dad Eddie (Christopher Fairbank), Denzel lashed out at Avani and was forced to apologise.
This week, he left girlfriend Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) hanging outside of Walford East after failing to show up to a romantic meal he’d organised as he was too busy at the gym.
In upcoming scenes, Denzel will feel a buzz when a well known fitness influencer reaches out to him to collaborate on a workout video, and enlists Nugget to help him with it.
However, when Nugget uploads the video online, it proves to be a catalyst for his next concerning decision.
