EastEnders icon teases possible soap return after explosive exit

Former EastEnders star Patsy Kensit has hinted that fans could see her make a grand return to Albert Square.

The Holby City actress, 56,joined the soap as Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) mum last year, after Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) made it his mission to track her down.

Since arriving in Walford, she learned of daughter Lola’s incurable brain tumour, and is determined to make the most of their time together for however long they have left.

Reflecting on the role, Patsy told Starnews99 : ‘The script writing is so good, I loved the character and I was working with Danielle [Harold] who was incredible.

‘With a programme like EastEnders, you really do have to surrender your life to it, but if the call came tomorrow, I’d bite their hand off because I had such an amazing time.’

At first, Lola wanted nothing to do with her onscreen mother Emma, but after explaining why she abandoned her as a child, she decided to let her mum back in.

 

Patsy took to Instagram to reveal that her stint on the BBC soap was over, posting pictures of herself boarding a flight ‘to the heat’.

In the caption of the photo, she thanked the team at EastEnders for welcoming her and being so kind.

‘Cannot thank my amazing cast members at the simply awesome experience I’ve had working on [EastEnders] for being so kind and loving to me.’ She gushed.

‘Big thank you to the BBC the producers writers crew and the EE family . Costume makeup AD’s Ang at the help desk.. Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my a*se off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton.. so so many people…. A new adventure begins’.

 

Patsy previously mentioned her ongoing health issue within the post, letting fans know that she is finally in recovery, after receiving a proper diagnosis and antibiotics.
