BBC EastEnders Cheryl Fergison rushed to hospital and put on drip after ' agonising' 24 hours - Daily Record

EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison found herself in hospital after 24 painful hours at A&E. She shared the details of her conditon on social media, describing the ordeal as ‘complete agony’

Cheryl, who played Heather Trott in the BBC soap, explained the that some things she had witnessed could not be ‘unseen’ as she put out a huge thanks to the NHS. Fans soon rushed to the social media post to share their best wishes.

Explaining in a video, she said: “Hi everyone, I’ve just spent the last 24 hours in AandE at Blackpool Victoria hospital. I’ve seen things in the last 24 hours [that] I can’t unsee. I’ve been in complete agony.

“I’ve been made a million times better by the angels that are all of the NHS staff which I wanna thank, like, big time. When people say they don’t get paid enough – they really don’t get paid enough. We’ve got a broken system. It’s gone to pot. It’s shot.

“But it’s still amazing and we still have it – just, by a thread. I wanna firstly say a huge thank you. I’m a lot better and when you sit for 24 hours in a chair in an AandE department being shipped off every six hours to go and get an IV, antibiotic drips, and come back again

In another twist, Cheryl recently quit a musical job before even starting due to backstage trouble reports the Mirror. She didn’t share why exactly she was taken to hospital or why she required a drip; however, fans quickly sent warm wishes her way.

One person commented on her video: “Hope you feel better yes being a nurse I can tell you that we don’t get treated very well by the NHS.”

Another added: “Hope you are feeling 100% again soon. The NHS is so broken and it is so sad what is happening. As an NHS nurse of over 30 yrs, I have seen so many changes. All we can do is carry on doing our best for our patients. Take care Cheryl.”

Cheryl’s health scare comes after she claimed Paul O’Grady “would have definitely wanted” her to take over his For The Love Of Dogs show – not Alison Hammond.

The TV legend, who died suddenly last year, fronted the show for more than a decade and it was recently announced This Morning regular Alison will carry on his incredible work when the show returns. But Cheryl thinks it should have been her taking over.

Alison will be heading to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to help the animals in their care look for a new place to live, following the sad passing of much-loved presenter Paul last spring.

But actress Cheryl said she has been “struggling to find work” ever since she was axed from the soap 12 years ago and in a bizarre video address to her followers on social media, claims she should have been given the nod because it is what Paul would have wanted.

Cheryl shared with her followers: “You know, I can turn my hand to most things, I’m not begging for a job. I’m just telling you I’m perfect for a lot of jobs but you guys are not putting me up for them, letting me go for them, and I don’t know why. I say good luck to Alison Hammond for getting For The Love Of Dogs.”

“But I’m telling you now, Paul O’Grady would’ve definitely given me his blessing to do that job, because I have a dog, we’ve discussed our dogs quite a lot and I’ve always had dogs in my life, and erm yeah, dogs are the best, it’s that simple,” voiced Cheryl, who is best known as Heather Trott on EastEnders. She said this during a live-chit-chat on Instagram.
