EastEnders spoilers – Friends at war! Lauren loses it with Whitney as she discovers her shocking act
A vicious row erupts between best friends Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
The pair’s relationship has been tense since Whit returned from mum Bianca’s (Patsy Palmer) in Milton Keynes – with a child in tow.
Not revealing to partner Zack Hudson (James Farrar) about how she came to take responsibility for Britney (Lola Campbell), he became more concerned that she was putting the girl before their own unborn baby.
Horrified to learn that Whitney was now her new foster mum, Whitney explained to himthat she hadn’t wanted to tell him anything because she didn’t want him to panic.
She went on to explain that she and the baby were fine, but that Britney’s mum Keeley had been attacked by her partner, and that Whitney had told social services she was a registered foster parent.
While this seemed like a reasonable explanation, it later became clear that she wasn’t telling the whole truth, and she slipped up on the story while retelling it to Lauren.
Though she managed to correct herself, a later conversation with Britney proved that nothing is as it seems when it comes to Britney’s fostering.
After Zack had finally come around to the idea of their new ward staying for a while, Whitney told her that he could never know what really happened before they returned to Albert Square.
Meanwhile, he’s been keeping a secret of his own after drunkenly trying to kiss Lauren – something that has haunted him ever since.
In upcoming scenes, Lauren puts pressure on Whit to take the youth back to her real home in Milton Keynes.
Instead, she makes plans to enrol her at Walford High and is nervous about telling further lies.
When Lauren discovers what her best pal has done, she’s furious, and the two fall out.
With Whitney set to leave EastEnders in the coming months, and both her and Zack keeping huge secrets from each other, will their relationship survive?
