Following a devastating sexual assault, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) will struggle to bond with her partner Patrick (Rudolph Walker) in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

The Albert Square legend is in shock following a horrific sexual assault from Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler), the leader of her prayer group who she had struck up a bond with.

Viewers of the BBC soap have seen his behaviour with Yolande worsen over recent months as he invaded her personal space.

When she confronted him over it, he gaslit her and implied that she was the one who was making him feel uncomfortable.

His actions took a turn for the worse earlier this week when he cornered her in a store room at the community centre during their charity fundraiser and attacked her.

Running home, she was devastated to see that Patrick had organised a romantic meal and couldn’t bare to face him.

At the Laundrette, she tearfully confided in friend Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) about the abuse and she urged her to go to the police.

Terrified that nobody would believe her, she headed home and broke down on the staircase.

In upcoming episodes, still struggling, she decides not to attend church for the foreseeable and Patrick urges her to continue practicing her faith.

Building up the courage to attend prayer group, Yolande is overcome with dread when the Pastor continues to get too close for comfort.

Returning home, Patrick has prepared another candlelit evening for them both but she finds his advances to be triggering and rushes out, leaving him puzzled by her reaction, still unaware of what has happened.

Will she find the confidence to tell him what happened?
