Why Sister Wives Fans Slammed Kody For Letting Meri Drive Solo As Mom Died

Kody Brown is once again on the bad side of Sister Wives fans after a new episode showed how heartless the patriarch is following the death of Meri Brown’s mother. While Meri was dealing with her mother dying, Kody thought it would be okay if he stayed behind in Arizona instead of traveling to Utah with his first wife. Fans are upset with how callous Kody acted but not surprised.

Sister Wives' Meri Wishes She and Kody Were Real with Each Other 'Sooner'

TLC viewers watched the mother of one as she drove up to Utah to see her dying mother. Not by her side was Kody, who opted to stay in Flagstaff, Arizona, with his favorite wife, Robyn Brown. Sadly, Meri was told about her mother, Bonnie’s death, while driving by herself. Meri told the cameras that she tried to call Kody, saying he had known that her mother was not doing well and was in the hospital. After the episode aired, Meri took to her Instagram to share how the episode affected her. Sister Wives fans couldn’t help but bash Kody, who offended Sister Wives fans, for not being there for his wife, with the viewer writing, “Your husband should’ve dropped everything.” Other fans shared how “disappointed” they were to see that the Sister Wives had to drive alone.

Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Shares His Own Memories Of Bonnie

The father of 18 shared his feelings about his mother-in-law’s death during a Sister Wives confessional. Kody shared that he was truly “brokenhearted” at the loss of Bonnie. Conveniently, Kody did not explain why he chose to leave Meri alone and not lend his support. Many viewers were surprised that with such a big polygamous family, not one adult, including Meri’s other sister wives, could make the trip with her. The lack of comradery within the Brown family shows how fractured they are.

Without a doubt, many Sister Wives fans felt it was a crime for Meri, who hinted at a split from Kody to be left alone to handle the grieving process on her own. The family came across as hypocrites after constantly preaching that “love should be multiplied, not divided.” Meri is still very much on the outs with the Brown family, and their lack of a reaction only proves that Meri and her feelings are no longer valued. Viewers even pointed out that if Kody couldn’t be there for Meri at her lowest, what is the point of being married to him?

The current season of Sister Wives is showing the breakdown of Kody and Christine Brown’s marriage. After 27 years, the mother of six decided it was time for the couple to go their separate ways. Meri and Robyn, who play the victim, seem to be the only two wives who are still sticking by Kody’s side. The season is set to show the two women trying to rebuild the family to how it used to be.
