General Hospital Spoilers: Nikolas & Portia’s Messy Romance – Shocking New Pairing After Cassadine’s Return?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans are calling for some romantic shakeups on social media. It’d be nice to see some new pairings – especially some messy ones that’d bring great opportunities for drama.

With that in mind, let’s think about where the show could go next with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).

Although Portia has vowed to stand by Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) no matter what, the passionate side of their relationship is gone.

Curtis just isn’t sure he’ll ever be ready to take that step with Portia again, but what happens if he takes it with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) instead?

There’s certainly the potential for some cheating now that Jordan and Curtis are working closely on their new investigation.

If Curtis is going to betray Portia, then it’s only fair to start looking at other love interest options for her.

The show’s been letting TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) lean on Portia lately, so it’s possible they could hook up at some point.

However, Portia and TJ wouldn’t make sense as a long-term viable romantic option.

Perhaps we should keep looking for someone else who could offer that and still bring the drama we’re all craving.

Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) plans to return to Port Charles eventually – and when he does, he probably won’t be facing prison time considering Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) doesn’t even remember him holding her captive.

It’ll be hard to charge Nikolas with anything that sticks without a firm victim’s statement. Nikolas may find himself a free man with no love interest, so what if GH writers pair him up with Portia?

We all know Nikolas likes complicated romances! Nikolas and Ava Jerome (Maura West) were a couple that certainly straddled the line between love and hate at times.

The show could go for a similar situation with Nikolas and Portia, so just think about the dramatic moments this pairing could bring.

Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyani Ali) would be downright horrified over the idea of his father dating her mother!

It would also be kind of fitting for Portia to fall for a complex Cassadine after causing such a fuss over Trina falling for Spencer.

If Portia gets together with Nikolas, she could finally understand what it’s like to get drawn in by that Cassadine charm and decide it feels right, even when there are so many naysayers.

Nikolas and Portia might have some hot chemistry if given the chance, so it’ll be interesting to see if they might develop feelings for each other down the road.
