Kody, 54, and his last-standing wife Robyn, 45, have major plans to upgrade their home in Flagstaff, Arizona, four years after moving, along with the extra land they purchased on Coyote Pass.

According to Coconino County land records exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, the Sister Wives couple applied for a residential self-issue permit on December 11.

The permit was approved that same day and it remains in effect for six months until June 8, 2024.

The U.S. Sun can reveal that the reality stars plan on upgrading panels, mechanical equipment, and their water heater.

They also plan on re-roofing and demolishing some parts of the home which aren’t specified.

In addition, they will be adding yard lines, per the permit filing.

An electrician named Darren Lance of Darren Lance Electric will be working with the couple on the updates as indicated in the record.

JANELLE’S PLANS PUT ON PAUSE

Kody and Robyn’s upgrades can cost a lot of money, given all their plans to make the home better.

They initially purchased the home for $890,000, but now it’s estimated to be worth $1,826,000.

The unloading of what could be thousands of dollars for upgrades is a far cry from Janelle’s financial situation.

On this season of Sister Wives, Kody’s ex-wife had made it clear that she’s struggling as she told cameras: “I’m stuck. Financially, I have nothing.”

She added: “I can’t believe I’m 50 and I can’t even do my own thing ’cause I’m so tied up with them financially. And I can’t do anything.”

Janelle, who is living in a small apartment in Flagstaff, explained that plans of building her dream home have been put on pause.

She claimed: “I thought we would be so much further along in the building process, but that’s just taken a long time,” referring to building on Coyote Pass.

LAND REMAINS UNTOUCHED

In October, The U.S. Sun shared exclusive new photos of what Coyote Pass looked like currently.

The pics showed that construction still has not started.

The only thing that is on the bleak land is loads of uncut grass and a wooden fence, which indicates the property lines.

There might not be any construction work on Coyote Pass in the immediate future.

A source previously: “Kody and Robyn have no plans for building on Coyote Pass – at least not at this point.”

The insider insisted: “There have been no talks whatsoever.

“It’s very expensive and they have to come to an agreement on what their plans actually are.”

The four parcels, that were divided into five properties – one for Kody and each of the wives – have remained vacant since 2018.

Christine, for her part, has since sold her Coyote Pass property to Kody and Robyn for $10 in July 2022.

The sale occurred nearly one year after their split in November 2021, and she is now living in Utah with her new husband David Woolley.

Meri, 52, also split from Kody in December 2022 and now spends most of her time at her bed and breakfast in Utah.

PAY UP!

The U.S. Sun previously reported Kody owed nearly $5,000 on property taxes that were due on November 1, 2023.

According to the Coconino Treasurer, Kody and Janelle, 54, owe $890.15, including interest, on their Coyote Pass land.

Another plot of land with Kody, Meri, and Janelle’s name on it is behind $1,246.77, including interest, in taxes.

In addition, Kody and Robyn owe $1,292.42 in taxes on their plot of land, while they also owe $890.15, including interest, for their second plot.

The taxes on Kody and Robyn’s five-bedroom, four-bathroom house that they purchased in 2019 have been paid off.

But they still owe $539.24, including interest, on taxes for a plot of land next to their home.

MARRIAGE IN TROUBLE?

During the December 10 special of Sister Wives: One on One, Robyn shed light on her marital issues with Kody.

She told host Sukanya Krishnan that the father of 18 “tries to” sabotage their relationship and she has to “stop him all the time.”

She revealed: “He picks fights with me [over] dumb things.

“We’re in different places. We’re in different places about the bomb that went off on our family.

“And like, I’m in a major place of mourning and he’s angry. He just wants to just go find whatever, you know? And I’m like, ‘No, I can’t feel like that.'”

Kody also spilled during the special that he and Robyn “made an agreement” that if they “weren’t in love,” they “wouldn’t drag each other out” and continue on their marriage.

Part four of the One On One special airs on December 17 at 10 pm ET on TLC.
