While his absence should only be temporary, Spencer Cassadine is presumed to be dead on General Hospital and so is Esme Prince. This wouldn’t be the first time someone in Port Charles rose from the dead though. Soap operas are known for killing off well-liked characters and bringing them back, even if years have passed. So, it’s safe to say that may be the case with Chavez’s character as well.
It was reported that GH has no intentions of recasting the role of Spencer in the wake of Chavez’s absence. So, viewers can remain hopeful that they’ll see Spencer Cassadine again in the future. His arc is expected to continue when Nicholas Chavez is finished with his work on Monsters with Netflix.
