Evan Hofer has taken center stage in an explosive storyline that has General Hospital fans glued to their screens. Dex betrayed Sonny (even if it was to protect him) and that kind of behavior never sits well with the mob boss. So, what’s going to happen with Dex – and his relationship with Joss – in the aftermath of all the drama?
Will Dex’s Life Fall Apart?
While talking with Soap Opera Digest, Hoffer spilled the tea on how things will be between him and Sonny (Maurice Benard) going forward. “For Dex, this loss is the loss of a relationship with the first father figure, the first parental figure that’s ever cared about him and taken him under wing and thought positively of him and believed in him,” he said of their relationship. “To be losing that, losing someone he felt he had this trust and relationship with and have that person just do a complete 180 on him is devastating.”
Does this mean there will always be a target on Dex’s back? He did what he did to protect his boss. Of course, it came with risks, but Dex adores Sonny and would never intentionally hurt him. He may never get the chance to make this up to the Mob King, though. Sonny doesn’t exactly have a history of being forgiving.
Will Love Win?
Adding to that is the character’s relationship with Joss (Eden McCoy). Can Dex and Joss continue their love story in the midst of all the chaos? “Well, Sonny wants Dex dead,” Hofer told the magazine. “Dex has never loved anyone the way he loves Joss before or had anyone love him the way Joss does. And the idea of her having to mourn him, I think, starts to raise these warning flags in his head.”
Does this mean the couple will be going on the run? Maybe! Hofer had thoughts on that too. “Dex is like, ‘This is really bad and I don’t know that there is any way we can make this work. Sonny wants me dead. How am I just going to stay here and be with you like nothing happened?’”
It looks like things are about to get very sticky for the young man and his leading lady. Dex is in for a wild ride as he weighs his next move. Will love conquer all?
