Natalie Cassidy gets pestered by fans when she’s in the toilet.
The EastEnders legend, who plays Sonia Fowler, said: “I get recognised all the time. It happens when I’m in a public loo. I find it funny when I’ve just had a wee and I pop out to wash my hands and someone wants to talk to me.
“I also get it in airports, hospitals… everywhere. But it’s all really nice. I’m lucky because Sonia is a nice character so I don’t really get any rubbish. People feel like they know me, which is really nice.”
Fans might want to be a bit wary of Natalie if she’s in a public toilet, however, as she’s previously confessed to a pretty weird hygiene habit. Last year, the soap star confessed she hadn’t showered for three days when she fell ill.
In a candid Instagram video, Natalie addressed fans as she said: “You know I’ve always said I’ll be honest on here, so here goes. I just realised, when drying my hair, that the last time I had a shower and washed my hair was Saturday. I’m the worst mum for saying ‘you’ve got to have a shower, Eliza [her daughter]. Don’t be soapy, get upstairs. You’ve got to have a shower every day, it’s really important,’ but Saturday to Tuesday?
“Now, hear me out. Saturday, I had my hair coloured and then I got in the shower, that was about four o’clock. Sunday, I had a house full, very busy. Yesterday, I was really, really ill. And then this morning, got up, had the kids. Done stuff in the house and had a shower. How bad is that though? When you’re not well you don’t fancy it do ya?”
In the caption of her honest video, Natalie added: “I had to tell you this one. Terrible really but yesterday was a write off and I’ve been busy this morning. Feel a lot better. Not surprising having had a wash. My daughter would kill me if she knew.”
Fans were quick to support Natalie at the time, with one commenting: “We’ve all done it.” Another wrote: “Don’t be so harsh on yourself. Some days I don’t wash or get dressed. Hey Ho! The only person judging is you!” While another fan said: “Shower every day? Too much to do for that! It’s not good for you anyway, you’re fine, you’re still alive, carry on.”
